With the entire nation on lockdown many of us should be taking the time to show our strands some T-L-C. If you are a natural like me then you probably have been testing out new hair care products and slowly adding them to your stash. The only store that seems to be open these days is Target, which is not always a good thing. I find myself buying more than I need, but however I’m grateful I still have the opportunity to take care of my hair while the world is shaken up due to Covid-19.

The first collection that I decided to pick up was by Garnier Fructis. I have been using them for quite some time now, because their products are pretty effective when it comes to styling. Since I haven’t had the chance to do any treatments or go to the salon majority of the products that I’m picking up claim to repair damaged hair. The shampoo and conditioner duo I found was the damage repairing treatment shampoo and conditioner with papaya extract.

I also was able to get my hands on Taraji P. Henson’s new line of hair care products. I chose to get the mint conditioner and the never salty sugar scalp scrub. If your are interested in purchasing the products click the links below. One thing I really love about these two products is the packaging. They both come with nozzle comb tips that make it easy to apply to the scalp. Most products you have to squeeze directly into your hand. These products allow you to apply them directly to the scalp without any messy fall-out. After using both the papaya collection and the TPH products my hair felt amazing and more manageable. I didn’t even have to blow-dry! I was able to do two stand twist and only add a moisturizer. If you are looking to take care of your hair while quarantined I would highly recommend trying these products. My plan is to do this regimen every 3 weeks and track my progress. Hopefully I will have healthy hair by September. If you would like to purchase these products and join my quarantine hair care journey let me know in the comments below.

My Wash Day Process!

1. I started off using the Taraji never salty scalp scrub on my damp hair. You simply massage the product on your scalp to remove all of the buildup from old products left on the scalp. The sugar scrub detoxifies your scalp and opens up the pores. After rinsing I noticed that my scalp was squeaky clean to the point I could have skipped shampooing if I wanted to.

2. Next I shampooed using the papaya damage shampoo 3x for a super clean scalp to remove the flakes, buildup, and the scrub. I was mostly excited about the smell of this product. It smelled amazing and the lather was satisfying I felt like the product was giving a deep clean.

3. Then I used the Taraji P Henson mint conditioner to really open up my scalp. The tingly feeling allowed the blood to flow opening up my follicles for possible hair growth and retention.

4. My last step was using the papaya conditioner as a deep conditioner and I let it sit on my hair for 35 minutes with a plastic cap and heated towel. Once I rinsed it out my hair was extremely soft and my coils were actually stretched and there was very little shrinkage.
