Ever since I can remember I have always had a passion to write. I gained interest in fashion at the tender age of five. My inner spirit has allowed me to think I was born to work in entertainment, fashion, or beauty. Now that I am 32 years old I can honestly say that everything that I imagined has become a reality. I have had the opportunity to work in entertainment (Deja 34 Records), and now I’m a blogger. This blog originally started off as an extension of the styling firm Closet Fashionistas (CF), now known as “Aisha Barnes”.
The Aisha Barnes firm gave me a chance to break into the fashion industry. I started out in the company as a fashion intern. Although, fashion is one of my first loves (especially being a creative director on photo shoots), nothing feels more natural to me than writing. It is the way my fingers hit the keys as I am typing something that I’m really passionate about. Even when I am on the metro train you will mostly find me with a small black notebook writing down ideas for my next blog post. I know for a fact Aisha Barnes who is the CEO/Chief Stylist of the firm channeled in on my ability to write just by seeing how happy writing made me feel.
I originally wanted to start my own blog 4 years ago, but Aisha offered me an opportunity to start a blog for CF. I never thought she would allow me to have so much creative control, but she really respected my vision. So much that she decided to give me sole ownership this year. Since clutches are one of my must haves in my closet I thought the name “Clutch Your Closet” was a suitable name, and so did my colleagues at the time. Now that C.Y.C. has been around for over a year, I want everyone to join this journey with me as I find a team and build an empire. My goal for Clutch Your Closet is to make our mark in the fashion, beauty, and lifestyle blog community our way and on our terms.
My personal agenda is to provide a glimpse inside the world of industry professionals behind the scenes all while sharing my personal expertise about fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. People behind the scenes are the people that need to be celebrated for their efforts and hard work. The Clutch Your Closet brand you can expect to read interviews with Celebrity Makeup Artist, Wardrobe Stylist, Producers, Photographers and many more. I hope this blog will inspire you to see fashion, beauty, and lifestyle as your own canvas without any limits. Cheers to making great content!
